Cu <sub>2</sub> ZnSnS <sub>4</sub> , a Fascinating Counter Electrode for TiO <sub>2</sub> ?Free Dye?Sensitized Solar Cells

Since innovation, different dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have endeavored with additional components to escalate the efficiency, cost-effectiveness and long-term stability. Various approaches been executed reduce amount of costly platinum (Pt) used in DSSCs and/or explore cheaper alternatives Pt. In this work, elements based quaternary chalcogenide alloy; Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) has projected as a prominent counter electrode (CE) candidate Pt DSSCs. The CZTS thin film developed by an in-situ synthesis employing hydrothermal technique further evaluating various physicochemical characterization. Our results manifest that using CE, power conversion efficiency (PCE) 4.3 % was exhibited for TiO2 photoanode. highest PCE 6.5 achieved BaSnO3 photoanode, promising alternative oxide This work signifies unique combination newly BaSnO3(BSO)-CZTS DSSCs, could be competitor TiO2-Pt
